The title of this post alludes to the fact that there is a difference between getting indexed and ranked by the mayor search engines. And the difference is significant and the impact is financial.
There are 6 fundamentally important steps to making money online:
- Start a blog
- Get indexed
- Get ranked
- Optimize
- Drive Traffic
- Monetize
Now let’s go over each step in a little more detail…
1. Start a Blog
OK, so you may be wondering why you need to start a blog. Let’s just agree up-front that you need a website. You need this to build a list, sell products, and earn commissions. So the real question is why a blog vs. a “regular” website. Well, there are several reasons why you would want to start a blog.
First, it’s very easy to get your website into Google and the other search engines when your site is a blog. This is because your blogging software “pings” the search engines everytime an update is made, so it’s easier to find your site.
And you can actually run any kind of site you want with “blogging software” – not just the kind of blog you’re thinking of. Using a software called WordPress makes it easy to do just about anything you can think of with your “blog.”
Second, because WordPress makes it so easy to manage your site, it’s easy for you to add new content to a blog on a regular basis. And this helps you get traffic from the search engines. We’ll go over this more in a minute…
Now you’re probably wondering how to start a blog and fill it with content. And the good news is that I’ve got you covered on this. PresellPro will automatically build you a blog for free, and they will show you how to get WordPress installed on a new domain in under 5 minutes. So step 1 could not be easier!

2. Get Indexed
Getting your blog indexed means that Google has visited your blog and collected and stored information about it in their database. You have to get index first, before you will show up in any search results . . . and that’s what we’re ultimately after, because it means free traffic!
Getting index is something that happens automatically when you’re using WordPress to run your site. Every time you add content (or when PresellPro adds content for you), WordPress notifies various services and they alert Google and the other search engines to come visit your site to check out the new content.
This can take a little time to happen, so there are a few simple things you can do to speed this up. These simple tricks are revealed to you inside the PresellPro members area – yet another reason to get your free PresellPro account. ![]()
You’ll also discover how to achieve “Instant Indexing” in Module 1 of the Massive Blog Success System. This training is free for PresellPro members.
3. Get Ranked
Once your blog is indexed, the next step is to get it ranked. What this means is that Google will display your site in a list of results when people search for terms related to your site. The higher you rank, the closer to the top of the search results your site will appear.
Getting ranked is a complex and difficult process. There are a ton of factors that go into ranking and each one of them has multiple facets to it.
First, you need to make sure your site is properly optimized and that your content is fresh and unique. This is called your “on-page optimization.”
Next, you need to work on your “linking strategy” or “off-page optimization” to make sure you have the right kind and number of links going in and out of your site.
And finally, you need to have activity on your site. It’s a catch-22; you need traffic to get traffic. Again, there’s a lot that goes into each one of these parts and it would be impossible to cover them all in a single blog post.
If you’re interested in finding out more about ranking just create your account and go to the “Training” section in the members area.
4. Optimize
Part of ranking well is optimizing your site – this part is called “SEO” for Search Engine Optimization. It means having all your “meta data” set up correctly and matching your content. This is really only important to Google and other “machines” because humans don’t read your meta tags. That’s not the optimization we’re talking about here.
What we mean is to optimize the site to make it user friendly for your visitors. AND optimizing it for revenues for you.
You want to make sure that your site is easy to navigate and provide value to your visitors. If your site is not easy to use, they will leave. And if they don’t find value, they won’t come back.
You also need to optimize your site to keep people on it longer and to get them interacting with it. You also want to make your blog “social” – this will generate free traffic for you and help with search engine ranking, too.
Next, it’s important to make sure you are monetizing your traffic. It’s important that your offers make sense with your free content and that it’s both easy and natural to move from your free content to your paid offers. This can either be by building an email list on your blog and then sending offers to that list, or by having a premium upgrade for more detailed information about what you’re giving for free.
You could also promote affiliate products. This is the easiest way to start because you don’t have to do any of the “work” and with PresellPro, you don’t have to do anything! PresellPro was designed to sell affiliate products on your blog and earn you commissions on the sales.
Sign up for your free PresellPro account to get their expertly crafted “preselling” articles posted to your blog. Each article promotes a specific product that earns you a commission. It’s 100% free and 100% automatic and it works even if you don’t have a blog yet!
You’ll also learn how to optimize from top to bottom with the exact plugins, settings and themes to use to increase usability, visitor experience and site sticky-ness – all in Module 3 of the free “Massive Blog Success System” that comes with your PresellPro Membership.
5. Drive Traffic
Once you’ve got your site well optimized, it’s time to start driving traffic to it. There are a number of ways to get traffic to your site for free:
- Video Marketing
- Article Marketing
- Social Media
- “Answer” & Web 2.0 Sites
- etc.
Each one of these methods will get you free traffic if you have a little bit of time to invest. You can also pay for traffic and get it instantly via:
- PPC
- Ad Networks
- PPV
- Purchased Links
- etc
These also all work if you have a little bit of money to invest. So either way – if you have time or money, you can get traffic to your blog using the methods above.
All of the free traffic sources listed above are explained in Module 4 – “Traffic Explosion” of the Massive Blog Success System. This 5-module system is available free to PresellPro members. Sign up for PresellPro today and gain access to this system in the “Training” section of the members area.
6. MONETIZE!
The last step is to monetize your traffic.
We’ve already talked about using “preselling” articles to promote affiliate products and earning commissions as a method of monetizing your blog traffic. However, this is only one way to make money with your blog.
All the secrets for monetizing your blog are reserved for PresellPro members only. But don’t worry – if you don’t already have an account, you can get one for free. Then inside the members area you’ll be able to unlock Module 5 – “Master Monetizer” where I reveal the 7 Power Profit Centers and a whole lot more about how to make money with your blog.
If you haven’t done so yet, please create your free PresellPro account right now. And I’ll see you in the members area…
