In a “word” YES!. Twitter is perhaps the fastest growing Social Media in the Internet. I won’t bore you with growth statistics; I’ll let you read about it here. It suffices to say that Twitter.com continues to grow in popularity and importance in both the consumer and corporate worlds. No longer just a platform for friends to stay connected in real time, it has evolved into an important component of brand marketing. Consider the following Nielsen NetView findings:

Twitter Most Popular Among Working Adults
Twitterers (a.k.a. Tweeters) are not primarily teens or college students as you might expect. In fact, in February the largest age group on Twitter was 35-49; with nearly 3 million unique visitors, comprising almost 42 percent of the site’s audience. I found that the majority of people visit Twitter.com while at work, with 62 percent of the combo unique audience accessing the site from work only versus 35 percent that accessed it from home only.

Can You Make Money With Twitter?
Consider the following questions:
- What do you think the majority of users; which happen to be in the age group of 35 – 49, might be looking to buy? What about the other age groups?
- What time of the day do you think your tweets will have the greatest exposure?
Lets talk about making money with Twitter
By now you know that Twitter is definitely one of the hottest Social Media to get your message across. However; one thing is certain, and that is that in Social Media Networks you don’t want to come across as pitching your products, and or services. Don’t get me wrong, you can, but you must earn the right to do so first. Look, if you go to one of those after hours social mixers, and all you do is approach everyone by handing them your business cards as you start giving them your sells pitch you are going to find yourself on a corner of the room noticing that everyone is now avoiding you. This is exactly what can happen not only in Twitter, but in any other Social Networks like Facebook, MySpace, Multiply, Zimbio, etc., etc.
TIP: Make your approach sociable, establish a conversation based on common interests.
Obviously in order to do this you must first find people who are interested in what interest you. This is what I call, your Niche. Consider this, lets pretend you are not afraid to get in front of a crowd and talk. What would you talk about? What are the topic you can talk about for ever? Well that is exactly what you talk about in twitter. This gives you the opportunity to establish yourself as a person who is engaging and interesting. Before you know it, you have a following in the thousands if not tens of thousands.
It doesn’t take long to gain a large following if you follow my lead. Take a look at the following chart from TwitterCounter.com
TweetaNiche is one of my Twitter Accounts. As the name implies; I tweet about Niche Markets which happen to be HOT. This account is fairly new. Actually, it is only 11 days old as of the date of this article, and it is growing at a rate of about 100+ new followers per day.
Since I opened this account, every morning I see about 100 more followers!
Now you need to understand that I do not spend my day in front of my computer Twitting away. No not at all!
You see, I’ve automated my Twitter related daily tasks. There are two tools I use;
- First step is to find your Niche Market. In other words find out what people are interested in. You need to find the keyword phrases people are typing into the Google Search Engine. Yet more importantly, you need to find the keyword phrases that have high profitability and low competition. You will need a GREAT keyword Research tool for this step. For this I use Keyword Country. Check out his video.
- I set up all my twitter accounts following the instructions provided by the Twitter Traffic Machine.
