It’s a tough question and can depend on your specific requirements. However, there are certain characteristics that everybody needs to have in a merchant account, and we’ll see in this Charge.com review how they stack up.
We will look at price first. This means how much it will cost you to take the credit cards that people are using to pay for the goods or services.
It sounds simple and it should be, but it’s not.
The costs or rate are a good opportunity for companies to display a little bit of their creativity. They can do this by displaying ‘headline’ rates that people think will be the overall charge they will pay only to find out something different when they get the bills. On this score Charge.com does not do this at all.
Next is the contract length, why sign a long term contract with a company you don’t know? I certainly have no idea, if a company wants you to sign one it would send alarm bells ringing in my head. If they provide great service at low rates, why would you leave anyway? Charge.com doesn’t score so highly here.
Then you’ve got the service levels. Can a company provide for your full business needs? Maybe you are an online business and need an internet merchant account, but what if you want to expand, will your provider be able to offer different payment terminals, or even mobile terminals, to be able to take orders at a big exhibition for example.
The requirements go on and on from here, but it ends with the fact that a company needs to get business, specifically your business done and done to a point that you are not even aware of them working. This means that there has to be a superb level of customer service and support.
So what is the result of this Charge.com review? Well they certainly are an excellent merchant account provider.
