I woke up today with a headache. Not the kind of headache that you get from a hangover but the kind you get after you’ve slept in an awkward angle all night. This headache is so severe that I’m considering taking some drastic measures. I thinking about using some of the medical training I’ve received watching the show House and prescribing myself a day off and bed rest.
Of course this is going to mean that I will have to call into work today. I’m sure my boss will understand but frankly at this point I couldn’t care either way. My boss is a cool guy and the organization we work for isn’t half bad either but I just think its time for me to take a me day.
It is times like these that I wish I owned my own home based business. I wish I owned and ran a system of doing things that made me money; much like fast food restaurants own systems of serving food fast. That, I feel, is the way it should be done. I still should be able to make a few bucks even if I don’t go in today.
Is it wrong to want to lay in bed all week and just call in every day? I figure that if I owned my own home based business that I could do that to some extent. I would at least be the dictator of my own time and would be able to enjoy more freedom and leeway.
Well honestly I have a confession to make. I do own my own home based business and the boss I was referring to was myself. I wrote this as an illustration on how things could be drastically different if a person owned their own business. They wouldn’t have to sweat over things like calling in to work because they were their own boss.
From now on I’ll never have to ask a boss if it is okay for me to do what I want with my time. I’m the true owner of what I do.
When people stop renting parts of their lives out to other companies and start taking control of themselves then we’ll see a drastic change in the confidence of those people. Your time is very valuable and you should be the owner of it. So use this article as a springboard to go out here and start your own home based business.
