A common cause for concern in any PPC advertising campaign is the quality and effectiveness of an ad. You need an ad that will not only draw people to your site, but will also lead to sales.
The ads of your PPC campaign are essentially small classified ads. They are built the same way, with a headline, body and call to action. The first, and most important, part of your ad is the headline. You will want something that grabs the reader’s attention and draws them in further. Then, with the body, you will state one or two of the benefits of your product. You will then end the ad with a call to action, directing your potential customer to your sales page.
In order to achieve optimal ads, you should use split testing. This will allow you to test ads against each other and find the strongest ad possible. The first thing you will want to do is set up 2 campaigns for the same product. These campaigns will use separate ads and link to separate landing pages for easy data tracking.
When you see which ad is stronger, you will tweak the weaker one and attempt to make it stronger than the first ad. Once it has reached that point, you will replace the weaker ad with a new ad and repeat the process. This can be done any number of times until you have an ad that you feel is as strong a performer as possible. This is one of the most time consuming aspects of PPC management but completely worth it. A strong ad can lead to strong profits.
You should build your ads around the keyword of your campaign. The ad will then be used to promote your products or services, or those of an affiliate program. Not all PPC allow the use of affiliate programs, but Google Adwords does.
You will want your ad to be as targeted as possible. Since you are paying per click, you want as many sales as possible to be generated from the traffic coming to your site. A broad keyword can draw traffic but will not bring in much sales.
There are many tools at Google Adwords to help you construct your ad. There are also many helpful tutorials and tools to help you manage your PPC ad campaign. Always be ready to adjust and improve your ad as this is the thing that will draw potential buyers to your site.
When you manage your PPC ad campaign you will need to pay attention to every aspect of it. There are 3 main areas to keep an eye on; keywords bidding and ads. Many people keep a close watch on keywords and bidding prices but fail to perfect their ads. This means that they are leaving a lot of money on the table. With these points you will be able to see how to perfect your ads and make more sales and profits.
